Teens petticoat
Nov. 25th, 2012 11:41 pmSince I did get the bolt of muslin this week, I decided to be Good and actually sew something I need - today it was a 19-teens petticoat. Still have to put the waistband on, but the bulk of the work's done, anyway.
Didn't have a pattern, just looked at the shape of the actual early 20thc petticoats and winged it. Lace and tucks seem to be the prime method of decoration (most unfortunately - I dislike making tucks), so off I went. The lace is off-white and doesn't really match the muslin, but...Stash. And my tucks are delightfully uneven, as usual, because I'm too lazy to actually mark or pin them. Underwear, hello! I want it to be pretty but doesn't have to be perfect.
What we have thus far:

Blurry, oops. Ehhhh, you get the idea.
