1770s striped jacket: Sleevils edition
Apr. 19th, 2012 11:56 pmI went through four (FOUR!!) sleeve mockups today that were incredibly, abysmally horrible. It was good fun. I don't know what was wrong with me, but I just could not get the slightly-below-the-elbow sleeve to work! Which is strange, because that's what I have on the cranberry wool gown, and it's fine. But when I tried to use that pattern, horrible-ness ensued. Finally gave up on the longer sleeve, and just used the pattern for the sleeve on the pink sack.
Which fit perfectly, which exactly zero fiddling or adjustments.
...
So the sleeves are all cut out, and one's sewn together and put on the jacket. After that, it's just sleeve #2 and hemming the neckline, and it's done. Unless I want to put some self trim on, which I might. Have to see.
