Heh. Heh heh heh.
Oct. 6th, 2010 04:32 pmOkay, so like I said I would yesterday, I went to Jo-ann Fabrics today and got the rhinestones and bugle beads. Which are really too freaking expensive, but what could I do? Especially the rhinestones. Eff you, Jo-ann's. Then I decided to just look around, because we're having our bathroom totally redone, and I was tired of hearing the men with sledgehammers.
So...which circle of hell do you get sent to for breaking resolutions not to buy things?
I don't know how many times I've seen the pretty wool in the suiting fabrics section. Many times. Ridiculously priced, though, so I never seriously thought about getting it. Then...today it was 40% off.
Me: 8DD
No, I can't buy that. I made a RESOLUTION.
Which you've already broken a few times.
Still. I do not need it. I have no place to put it.
But it's on sale! It's only $14.99 a yard!
That's still too much. I don't have the money.
Actually, you've just been hired, and have more money in your account than you thought. Remember?
But what will I use it for?
You know you want a lower-class 18thc anglaise.
Yeah, I do...plus that color will look nice with the brown petticoat I already have.
And you wanted a wool gown in case you get in with an historical site in the area.
You're right! *pets wool some more*
I'LL TAKE IT!!
I love how I convinced myself to buy the wool, by having this internal conversation with myself and standing there petting the bolt of wool for five minutes. I must have looked like a lunatic. And then of course the lady at the cutting counter asked what I was making. I didn't feel like making anything up, and told the truth. Another (very nice) lady waiting to helped then said, "It's going to be a very long dress, isn't it?" (I bought four yards.) Me: ...

I couldn't get my camera to take a proper picture of the color; it's not quite that shade, but close enough. I'm absolutely in love with it. *snuggles pretty wool which is already covered in cat hair*
I will make an effort to finish the Halloween costume first, though!!
