The thing is, when you've got two hobbies and are easily distracted by the internet, nothing ever gets done! Seriously.

Posting here is probably not helping that, come to think of it! Hmmm.

But it's hooooot. *whinge* I'm tiiiired of hot weather, can it PLEASE be fall? PLEASE?!

Still have those same four 40s/50s/60s dresses that aren't done (though two are closer to being done!), plus all those little fixes I need to do on a few other things that have been lurking in my closet, not being worn because they need said fixes! Well, I am working on the hem of the 50s print dress at the moment -- I mean, I was, and then decided I wanted to go on LJ. Hopefully I can finish something before the weekend, because I'll be partying away most of the weekend with my TCNJ Group.

Plus practicing guitar eats up a lot of time, with not particularly tangibly immediate results, but I keep at it! Mostly because I want a pretty shiny electric guitar sometime in the next year, and it would be stupid to get one and not be able to play it! Yeah, this is me saving money. Uh huh. Yup. See, I said I'd stop buying fabric except for that one time, so I can spend it on something else...? Wellllll, I'll just request that anybody in the family who was still going to buy me a small prezzie for Christmas or my birthday in February give me a bit of money instead so it can go in the Guitar Fund.

Okay, okay, back to hemming. Or reading my f-list, then hemming.

Well, okay. Notwithstanding all my complaining about never finishing anything in my previous post, I actually managed to hem the print 50s Vogue dress, so it's done. (Gimme a Cream album and a Queen album and I can do any tedious hemming! A fuller skirt might also require a Beatles album though.) So, yes, I had to update with a YAY PROGRESS post.

What's left on the List of Dooooom (that of course has had things added to it)? Let's see:
- 1950s print voile dress that needs to be hemmed and have the belt put together
- Burda 1960s-style blue and pink mini-dress that needs a zipper and a hem
- striped 1940s dress from another Butterick Retro pattern I've got that needs to be taken in so I'll actually wear it
- same for a black & white 50s dress
- early 1960s-style plaid silk dress, currently hidden in a bag because I sewed the sleeves on backwards, so it got shoved away in disgust a couple months ago
- 1947 Butterick Retro black & white striped dress and black jacket: finish dress, start jacket

I'm probably forgetting something else I want to finish that's shoved in another bag somewhere...can add that when I find it! And I'll take pictures of these...uh, eventually. When I get a couple of them finished, so I can do my hair and attempt to not look like a hobo. (I look like a hobo today. Trust me.)

On to the zipper of the b&w striped dress! I hate zippers.
