Nasty summer
Jun. 8th, 2008 01:54 pmDon't get me wrong, I fully appreciate being off from school for months and becoming a part time member of the workforce...but I hate summer weather. Yahoo weather says it's 91 but feels like 98, and it really isn't lying today.
Yesterday I finally got myself over to Joann fabrics and bought patterns, mostly for modern dresses. I always need more dresses. And, well, okay, some of them are only modern in the sense of "was in style in the past 60 years or less" but that's more modern than my usual sewing endeavors, and if I'd wear it randomly in public, it qualifies as "modern." :D (Of course, after buying 8 patterns for 1.99 each, a flyer was shoved into my bag about how, in a couple weeks, those same patterns will be 2 for $3...)
Made most of a skirt from one of those patterns last night, except for putting in the zipper, as I haven't got one. Zippers are not the kind of thing I have "just laying around" in my mass of sewing things. Hemp cord, yes; zippers, no.
