Quirks...that's a funny word, really

mandie_rwAll right, but only because I was tagged-ish...and because when I get off LJ I should do my Latin homework, and I dowanna; I'd much rather stay on the internet and listen to my new Across the Universe soundtrack.
A. List Seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
B. Tag seven people to do the same.
C. Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag "whoever wants to do it."
1) Fact: I am, in point f fact, a ridiculously fast reader. This applies more to books I want to read than, say, college texts, but still. I can't think of any extremely impressive examples, but when I've had nothing else to do, I've been known to read the whole of Lord of the Rings in a day and a half.
2) Habit: I still bite my nails, though they're not as awful looking as they used to be.
3) Fact: In regards to current popular music, I am probably one of the most out-of-touch twenty-year-olds in America (living in Suburbia, anyway). My family's never had cable TV, I grew up listening to Billy Joel, the Eagles, etc., because that's what my mom listens to, my favorite band's probably the Beatles, and I lose touch with "popular" music somewhere in the nineties.
4) Quirk: When I turn off the light to go to bed, I jump into bed from a foot or two away from it. I've done that my whole life; I think maybe it goes back to when I still thought there were monsters under the bed, and I didn't want them to grab my ankle. I don't think they're there anymore...but I still don't give them a chance, just in case. :)
5) Fact: I don't like most "girly," "cute" movies that my (girl) friends like; I'd much rather watch Clockwork Orange, Requiem for a Dream, or Apocalypse Now than The Wedding Planner or, I don't know, Spanglish (which was on TV last night and which I vetoed...we watched Shoot 'Em Up instead).
6) Habit: I am one of the world's worst procrastinators. Well, maybe not quite that bad, but pretty bad. Last semester I stayed up for twenty-five hours to write a term paper (a comparison of Hapsburg and Ottoman fashion from the 16th-20th centuries). And it always works pretty well; I got a B+ on that, I think.
7) Fact/Quirk: I am so bad at flirting with boys, my friends have been known to yell at me later. (Note: I think it's just funny, while some of them seem to think I'm hopeless. Go me! :D)
And now I'm going to break Law C above, and not tag anybody specific. Tagging people for a meme makes me feel like I'm sending chain mail in a way, and chain mail is Evol, so, anybody who feels called to waste some more time on here, go ahead.
