More petticoat zzzz

Since it was between continuing to fit the 1780s stays and making the petticoat for the 1780s outfit I wanna wear while being fabulous with rose_bertin this summer, and the petticoat was the easier way out...I've been working on that all day. I don't know why it takes me so damn long to make petticoats, but it does. And I don't even hand sew the side seams. *scowl* Am taking a break from seemingly endless pleating of blue silk shantung to note on here that I haven't done much. That's productive...

How did I miss that orginial post? Anyway I had to chuckle since that is the pic is one of my favorites. I've had it up on my desktop for a while now and was sorry I didn't buy that coral from fabric.com to make it. Well I'm glad someone gets to make it! :P

=) I really had an "aha!" moment when browsing 18thc images that day...it's not often I actually have all the fabric for a dress that jumps out at me as Really Cool to make. And it's a totally obnoxious combination, too - in the best way! Gotta love period color combinations...I don't think I'd ever have put an orange(ish) and blue gown with a pink hat, but it totally works. XD
