mandie_rwWell, okay, I did work on something. Been all productive and stuff, kind of astoundingly so. (Sadly I have no icon for this...some day I will actually buy myself some Live Journal, so I can have more icons!)
I drafted up and made a mock-up of the 1844 corset from Corsets and Crinolines (for the possible Poe dress later in the year). When I say "drafted up," I mean my approximation of drafting, which involves taking a few vague measurements on myself, adjusting the pattern to that, and drawing the shapes on a large piece of paper, rather haphazardly and freehand. Then I make a mock-up or two. It's worked so far! The mock-up was actually pretty close to my size, and so only needed a few tweaks here and there. When I decided it was Close Enough, I took it all apart, and made a final paper pattern from the mock-up fabric.
Sadly, that's as far as I could go with the corset, because I don't actually have any fabric for said corset. But I will. Oh, I will. Until then, I'll just have to find something else to work on.Yeah, I'm sure that'll be difficult, with 46783 unfinished things laying around. But I bet I'll still start something new!
Maybe I'll go digging in the box of hat supplies. And that's just asking for trouble! *wicked grin*
