The Pallisers are not exactly exciting. They're not bad, but they're not exciting. At least the move better than the Barsetshire novels. I'm not sure why I keep reading Trollope, but I do.

Dumas, on the other hand, is always interesting. I think I've liked pretty much everything I've read by him. I don't suppose I'll reread La Reine Margot or George or the Journal of Mme. Giovanni, but they were enjoyable enough.

It's easy to get rid of a book that was bad but hard to get rid of one when it was good.
