We had a small outing of the Fabulosity Club today - just[livejournal.com profile] ladyxjade,[livejournal.com profile] madamekat,[livejournal.com profile] bethhsh, and I, but we had a very enjoyable couple of hours!

(And they were good enough to get their pictures up tonight so I could steal them right away! Mwahaha.)

It rained my whole drive down, but the weather actually turned out better than expected, and we got to prance around outside like loonies for an hour after our tour. Once Kat & Judy arrived, we decided to have tea and snacks right away (you know, to sustain us through the touring of the house. And the prancing.

The ladies in charge of the place were nice enough to let us have tea in one of the parlors in the addition to the house - formerly the servants' wing if I remember? but now for little groups like ours, meeting spaces, &tc. And apparently decorated in accordance with somebody's idea of a Victorian house of ill repute. Not even kidding. Well, that explains some of the wallpaper...

This kind of behavior pretty much set the tone for the afternoon... ;)

Before we'd escaped the nuthouse...

So, yes, tea, and then our tour of the house, which is really great! Enjoyed it immensely, especially the sewing room! No pictures allowed upstairs in the house, sadly, because the collection of portraits of the Bringhurst family are pretty impressive. (Kat and I each picked out a man for ourselves from the portraits, by the way. Happily not the same one, so we don't have to fight over him.)

After the tour we trouped outside to take a "few" pictures, which turned into an hour of running around the house and up and down the lawns, all the while laughing like escaped nutters, and enjoying ourselves immensely. We had the privilege of disturbing both a bride and groom having photos taken, and Family Photo Day or something. *pats us on the back*

Actually the couple had some shots taken with us in the background (like, on purpose) so they weren't too terribly disturbed. Hooray, we're in somebody's wedding photos!

There was a bunny on the lawn. I stalked it.

And scared the crap out of it.

I really wanted to dive off the bridge, y'see.

And then Kat and I had a race back to the house.

I think I won because, well, I did that.

Basically, you can't take us anywhere.

And two shots in which I'm actually not acting insane!

("Acting", she says...?)
