CADD, whaaaat?
Mar. 21st, 2011 11:34 pmAs I so frequently remind you people, I have the attention span of a grape when it comes to sewing. Really.
I did work on the round gown tonight: the bodice is sewn together as much as it can be before sewing it to the skirt panels, and I started sewing one of the drawstring channels to the front panel. And then.
And then I started talking to one of my college friends online, and it reminded me that I wanted a new dress for her birthday celebration. We're going to the Empire Hotel in NY, and OMG I have nothing to wear! (Not true. Well, sort of.) Okay, whatever, I just want a new dress. But as I said to her, I really don't have money to spend at the moment on a dress I'll wear once. Solution: make one! From something already lurking in the Stash, of course.
I've know about this for weeks already, but none of the fabric I had was inspiring me. Well, tonight it did...I've got some pieces of poly brocade (Joann special...you know the kind I mean!), green and gold floral patterned, and finally it spoke to me. I was messing around, pinning it on Mabel, and I think I've got some ideas. Finally! Her birthday's in less than two weeks...psh, I can make a dress, no problem. (I hope I don't get distracted again!)
Hopefully I'll get it all draped tomorrow, and get sewing! And maybe even get some pictures of the process. (I know, whaaat?)
