I sewed exactly nothing today. Go, me! Ate far too many highly-discounted Valentine's-Day-themed chocolates, though, which was productive in an entirely different direction.

Decided on Saturday May 21st for my Morris Arboretum Regency picnic, so pencil it in! ;) Will post it in the Fab Club shortly, too.

Downton Thoughts!
- I usually think Tom has good advice, but as regards Henry Talbot? Shut up, Branson. Just because you want to date him! Mary is right and auto racing is stupid, boring, and in 1926, highly dangerous! H's very pretty, but shag him, don't marry him.

- Daisy's "what do you mean Mr Mason can have other friends and not love me any less" would be more convincing if she wasn't supposed to be about 30 at this point. I don't care if she's emotionally stunted, it doesn't make me want to throw her under a lorry any less.

- Please, Edith. Just be happy. Here's hoping this dude doesn't dump her at the alter.

- I love that Lord G had at least part of his stomach removed two episodes ago and he's eating and drinking quite happily in this one. I am too lazy to consult the Google but I feel like you might have to modify your diet somewhat after that? Whatever, show. I was entirely too tickled that he told Rosamund to shut up at the dinner of Sad, though; she didn't deserve it this time but she has so many times in the past...I giggled.

- Maggie Smith is a TREASURE. That scene with Miss Cruikshank couldn't have been more excellent. Related: let's have done with Downton, I want to see the Violet and Isobel Show! They can solve mysteries and meddle in random villagers' lives and it will be AMAZING.

- Please please please don't kill Thomas off, show. You did a really good job of having every single character give him the brushoff this episode...even the whole teaching-Andy-to-read-thing was like, "hey, thanks, but you probably sucked at this too so we'll take it from here! bye now! nobody needs you here!" That slow pan out of him sitting in the servant's hall alone toward the end of the ep was very ominous. I just keep thinking of the depressed blind soldier Thomas befriended in season 2 who slit his wrists...

- On a less depressing note, Mrs Hughes takedown of Carson in The Affair of The Cooking Of Dinner was excellent! So will you stop being such a butler at home now, Carson? Hee.

The Violet and Isobel show would be the absolute best show ever,  Especially the meddling.

Someone needs to ping Fellowes and tell him this is his new moneymaking scheme! LOL

I loved Mrs Hughes making Carson cook dinner! And I hope Thomas doesn't die, either. I've felt so bad for him lately, it almost makes me forget that at first, I totally hated him. I'm so glad Edith will (hopefully) finally get to be happy. She's been my favorite sister since Sibyl died (I kind of hate Mary), and she really deserves to have more happiness in her life.

Carson dozing off at the table made me laugh so hard!

Rob James-Collier has done such a good job with the character, he makes you forget that Thomas really has been a total asshole and nobody should be surprised at him getting the boot first. But nooooo, I want Thomas to be happy and maybe even find a hot boyfriend!

See, I've always been on Team Bitch Mary, because I have no patience for Sad Sack Edith either...and she's been that for a looot of these six seasons. I've liked her more since she found a purpose in life this season and finally found a good guy who wasn't a burn victim impersonator, or married, or old and wimpy, or married... ;)

I think we should send a petition to Julian Fellowes, hahaha!
