Vintage tea

Had a most excellent time withe the Usual Suspects (plus a new acquisition!) at tea today, at our favorite local tea house. Well, [personal profile] robinsnest 's local tea house, anyway! ;) (We've been going there for a few years, often in much weirder clothes, and they've got good food, reasonably priced. Just a happy coincidence for Robin that it's 5 minutes from her house, haha.) As usual, we toddled over to the antique mall that's next door, and I spent all of $3.50 on a roll of wide lace, probably early-ish-20thc. Robin also bought me a bonnet-adjacent hat from the Cheap Hat Bin, cause she's awesome like that. It's delightful because I can use it for 1870s as well as 1940s-or-whatever-that-I-don't-actually-do. Add ties, and insta-bonnet!

Sadly Robin had in-laws to placate, so there was no stitch-&-bitch afterwards, but I did come home and finish making the buttonholes in the shirt (and spend waaaaaaaaaay too much time looking at early-mid19thc men's underpants on Pinterest, and contemplating whether the Imaginary Boyfriend would consent to wearing them...will have to research this)! Which means the shirt juuuust squeezes in under the wire for Things Finished In 2018, yay! It's covered in pencil marks so it needs a wash before I take any pictures of it. Which I will do, although it's just, yanno...a shirt. Still. Boy clothes!
