Striped 1770s jacket photos

Off work today; though it was an unsuccesful sewing day for several reasons (though it's not bedtime yet, so who knows!), it was so unseasonably warm, I decided I wanted to play dress-up and get pictures of the striped jacket I made in April and haven't worn yet.

Realized I probably won't ever wear it, because the only reasons I have to wear middling-class 18thc are all during cold weather months - and this jacket's cotton. Maybe some year it'll be unseasonably warm for Fort Fred?

Whatever. It's not like not having a reason to wear something has ever stopped me before.

Lil' Sis is used to being dragged places to take pictures of me in my costumes, and I don't even have to bribe her any more. It's great. We just walked to the little Revolutionary-era cemetery two blocks from our house for a decent background (so convenient!) An old guy walking his dog seemed to think we were a bit odd...

Slip for gold dress

See, I did sew something!

Well, no, you can't see, because I didn't take a picture, but you'll have to take my word for it. It's as dumbed-down as a slip can get, so not very exciting. Also, made of this semi-sheer cotton-and-metallic fabric, so not decent to model for you all!

Plus it's really really lazy, construction-wise. "This is a slip, no one will see!" It's one step up from the slip I made for the green lawn dress, only because I had to French seam this one as the fabric likes to fray. Otherwise...hem on the selvedge? Sewing over top of mistakes instead of unpicking and redoing them? Check and check!
