The hat looks great! I feel like I'm getting some of the absurdity from the pictures, something about the spiky feathers and the giant flowers. Absurd in the good way, of course!

Beach coat sounds like a fantastic idea! And white linen is a wonderful choice, even if it is a bit lab coat-y.
