And this is why I try to post here every day...once I get out of the habit it's all up with me! Nothing exciting or traumatic going on, just brain-meltingly lazy, mainly.

Let's see...I should be a lot further along with the pre-Raph undergown than I am, but there was an eyelet snafu (which reminds me suddenly, I haven't ordered ribbon to lace it, probably should do that, like, yesterday) and I was mad at it for a couple of days - and then I got over myself and made more eyelets, grumbling all the while. Does seem to fit, though. That's good. And today I mocked up the sleeves and cut the linings and remembered I hadn't washed the extra yard of silk, and so washed that too. And marked the hem on myself, which was about as fussy as you'd think it is to mark a 250"-ish hem on yourself. I left the extravagant train...it's far longer than I originally intended (I'm just going to leave a sweep on the undergown, she said) but I couldn't bear to cut it off! So it stays. Not like this is a practical dress anyway!

Longer train means longer overgown, which I measured out and discovered it's going to use just about every scrap of my voile. Time for another Dharma order! That's one of the things I just like to have on hand...like white linen.

What else? Oh, I got my extensions in the mail, and they're a fairly terrible match. I promptly ordered the next darker shade, which will probably be an equally terrible match, just too dark instead of too light. The problem with costumey wigs/pieces...nobody sells them by color number! "Light brown" is not helpful. At least the texture is bang-on? (Does this mean my hair is like "corn weave" plastic? Probably.)

Dis my cranky-extensions face. Oh well, I'll just wear whichever set is less awful, and cut up the other for hairpieces. At least they're cheap!

If only my hair would be HELPFUL and be the same color on the top and at the ends! My hair will go quite light if I'm out in the sun all summer...but it's April, haha. Maybe I'll just demand all my pictures be taken in black and white? ;)

You could mix and layer the extensions too? I have to pull mine out and give them a good combing again.

I played with both colors a little today, and unfortunately they looked pretty stupid together! If I wanted to cut them up and really layer them back together it might work...but that sounds like waaaay too muuch work. Lucky you and your black hair! ;)

That is such a cute picture! I think the hair looks great-- a lot of long hair is lighter than the newer hair at roots!

Hahaha, thanks! That's true...my own hair sans extensions is only upper-back length and is waaaaaay lighter at the ends than the roots! And looks natural as far as I can tell, haha.

Thanks! :D Wearing the extensions around for a while made me with my hair really was that long! I know it's fairly impractical and I would never do anything with it (and my hair grows so sloooowly), but it felt so pretty and feminine.
