Pictures of a medievall-y sort

They are here! And they were taken with the self-timer and still managed to be phenomenally bad! Yaay! *applauds self* Hey, at least they're here, 'kay? And I cropped them, and you don't even get to see the bizarre faces I made while wondering "Oh damn, lost count, when is the camera going to- oh. Well, bet that'll be an interesting shot..."

The underdress. Green linen, and no, no closures. I am lazy and figured I could get away with not making them. This makes for a fair bit of wriggling getting in and out of the thing. Please to be disregarding the "I want to die" face (s) in this and following pictures. Life does not actually suck that much.

More underdress, cos you can see the front better. And no, the dress does not actually trip me when I walk. It's all the leaves in the back yard. For once I actually made something the right length and even all around.

The Dress; green wool with the skirt lined in yellow cotton, which you can see a bit of in the first picture. (Also no closures. Sometimes the sleeves try to smother me when putting it on.) I did mean for the sleeves to be that long as well! And I kind of love the train; it's totally impractical, and when I was making it, I made the skirt extra long to have room to play around with just a bit of a train. But then I was swanning around the house in it, and decided I couldn't bear to part with my pretty train. The veil's linen, and I actually wanted a longer veil, but this was the biggest piece of white linen I had, and wasn't about to spend more money on this outfit.

And I admit, from here on in, I just got kind of picture-happy. I think I just wanted to piss off the dogs in our neighbor's backyard; they bark whenever anyone comes out our back door, so of course they were howling straight through all this picture-taking. (This may be part of the reason I am a Cat Person.)

Kind of look like an idiot in the spinny picture, but you can see the chin band that helps hold the veil on-  clearly rather well (can't see the other band, which wraps horizonally around my forehead and the back of my head). And...I don't know, I like my train in the second pic?

Okay, I lied, you can kinda see the horizontal band for the veil in the first pic. Second pic: See, iz how I dances! (And I actually managed to not drop the train at all while dancing at feast! Which was...wow, exactly a month ago. )

See, only took me a month to get proper pictures up! (...)
It was kind of in interesting change to go from my usual, corseted and highly supported with lots of underwear (one reason I can never finish anything!) to this drapey, more loose-fitting costume with minimal underclothes. I made that shift-type-thing to wear under the underdress, but you can't see it (which is kind of the point), and it's not very exciting; just white cotton with two more layers in the bodice front.
