Sack jacket progress report

Despite my focus starting to wander today (why hallo thar, CADD! may post on that in a bit), I got a bit done on the sack jacket today.
Everything in the body of the jacket's now sewn, apart from the hem, so it's on to the sleeves!

A Sleeve.
The flounces are also cut out, but they don't look like much yet, as I haven't done the pinking yet. That'll be fun...scallops. (On the trim, too.) It'll be like the dress of a thousand triangles!

And, you know what? I'm starting to think taffeta wasn't the cleverest choice for this jacket. The stiffness of the silk is wonderful and all when it comes to the back pleats, but every time I sit down and then stand back up, the thing inflates. It looks ridiculous.

And yes, it stays like that when on a human that's walking around. Hits doorways, actually. Occupational hazard of using that fabric, I s'poze. (I know, poor me, the trials of having to use silk taffeta, right?) Well, once I sit down for breakfast in this thing, I'm NOT GETTING UP. :P
(And I tried pinning the length a bit shorter, and no, that doesn't help with the sticky-outy-ness.)
Oh well. On to the sleeves!
