There's always something.

So...I pleated the base skirt to the waistband tonight. All was going swimmingly, until I decided to actually try it on over bustle and petticoat. Looked at it in the mirror, and...the bustle looks deflated. Lame. Kind of...flat. (Tried to take a picture, but couldn't find room anywhere. I need a sewing space!)

I don't know, maybe the weight of a lined skirt is just too much for it? (What would it do with a velvet skirt; perish the thought!) What the hell, hoop steels? Whatever it is, I am not terribly pleased. The skirt is not being taken apart, so I'm going to have to think about what to do to Deal With This. May have to think about making a new bustle.

Couldn't just have an easy project, oh no! I'm going back to the 18th century...just kidding. Probably.

I have a few ideas that may help...but a picture could really help isolate the problem

There's actually nowhere in the house (seriously?! Yes) at the moment that will accommodate my skirt with enough distance between me and the camera, lol, or I would take a picture. ;) Think I'm going to put it aside for the moment and finish the stays for Pennsbury - maybe this is a litle nudge that that's what I should be doing anyway! :P
