Pottsgrove Manor candlelight tour
New plan for getting pictures of events, especially at candlelit ones: steal them all from
dragoneyes19!
Feeling a bit dozy (I stayed late at work because one of the girls had to leave early. Don't mind, it was for a very valid reason; but am now zonked!), so you don't get a long, terribly clever post about last night...I know you'll all miss it.
Haah. Robin's done a post about it already, so if I forget what we did, I'll just go there. You're just here for the pictures, anyway! And I did make sure she got a shot of Me In Dress Sans Cloak.

Isn't us cute?

I wore long gloves under my idiotic thumbless mitts...shuttup. The thumbs needed to keep warm somehow! Also, may look into making a shift with slightly longer sleeves, so that I don't have that inch or so between the sleeve and mitt.
Except...I hate making shits, so maybe not.

I hate sleeves. If I didn't have to move my arms, I'd be able to make them fit much better! Dressing dummies instead of real people...now there's a thought! I'm pleased with those back pleats, though, I will say. (And it's my shoulders that are uneven, not the dress! My sewing's not that wonky...)

I haz a pomander! Kids' crafts - which we could have got away with not paying for...because they thought we worked there. But we're Good Peoples, so we paid. That thing smells awesome, and it will sit in my roomforever, or until it shrivels up, whichever comes first.
And you can see exactly how low-cut my stays are in this shot. Fun.
Oh, and we went to a nearby diner for dinner (this is what we do now...candlelight tours, then a diner! I like it), and some woman thought we were Amish. Robin had to tell her this wasn't actually a lifestyle for us. *snicker* At least no one asked us if we were carolers at the diner (I'm telling you, it's the muffs!)...but the lady working in the manor's kitchen did ask if we were going to sing for them. Hurr hurr...are YOU going to sing for us, lady? You're dressed similarly! Yeah, didn't think so.
At least no one told us anything stupid about doorknobs. Or cellars. (There were both, by the way. Hee.)

Love that some lady thought you were Amish! You should have sung for them - done Gimmie Shelter, or something ;op
