too lazy to set up the sewing machine
I thought really really hard about starting the flounced 1840s petticoat, both last night and this afternoon after lesson planning...but I would have to switch out the thread, and find the pedal, which got Put Somewhere in the Great Sewing Room Cleanup of 2020, and...ugh. So last night I cut out the buckram pieces for the 1840s bonnets instead. (One for Robin, one for me...She has requested one that does not look like a mailbox LOL) I decided to try backing the buckram with organdy rather than double-layering the buckram like I usually do, just to see what happens. So I hand basted that on, and then...I would have had to set up the machine anyway to zigzag the wire around the edges because that's way too much work to do by hand. And, no. So that was my productivity for the weekend!
