Nattering on
Oct. 29th, 2013 11:41 pmI got most of my measurements figured out for the new 1920s evening dress - but a couple things have come up to dissuade me from finishing it right now. Mainly, I might not be going out on Halloween any more - I may not get back from helping set up the new store in time to carpool up with the rest of the group (and I flat out would not drive myself, because Reasons). I'm not terribly upset over this because bars and clubs are always a real effort for me.
Plus, I'd really, really like to make a deep V neckline and fill it in with either chiffon or net, neither of which I have on hand. I was going to use point d'esprit, which I do have on hand...but it's not right. (Yes, I am aware the main fabric of this dress is poly net with machine-sewn plastic sequin designs - but at least they're flat sequins!) Anyway, I think this dress will have to wait til later! If I do go to NYC I can wear the gold and white dress, and just hope no one spills red wine on it.
And I am having such an awful time getting myself to work on the paletot! No idea why, it's not misbehaving...I just seem to be spending my time bumbling around instead of buckling down. This will be regretted soon...
