Costuming year in review (a little late)
Prepare to be under-impressed with my lack of speed in sewing! I always feel like I should have been able to make more...
Everyday clothes. "Everyday" should probably be in quotation marks, because yes, they're mostly 40s-50s-60s-inspired dresses!
Such as:

Bridesmaid dress for my friend A's wedding in May (this is what happens when you say to your bridesmaids, you can get your own dress. Some idiot will screw up the first version of her dress and only have enough to make the second version ankle-length). Also 1960s-inspired. OMG WHAT A SURPRISE:

Mid 1860s crinoline, for no real reason. Also bonnet:

1840s undies, which, yes, I JUST posted about (got in under the wire, haHA!) Corset and thousands of petticoats. Or three:

Wasted a month of my time by finishing the beading on my Black Diamonds Moulin Rouge costume that didn't fit any more, which I found out when getting ready to go out on Halloween (No pictures of the actual amount of beading, this is an in-progress photo!):

New stays; the 1780s pair from Corsets and Crinolines. Yes, covered in leftover silk from the bridesmaid dress...I love the color:

Late 18thc yellow silk gaulle to wear to the Bastille Day fair in Philly with
rose_bertin :

Big Pink 1780s Hat (I was going to make a Very Impressive new dress to go with, but that didn't get done!) for
rose_bertin and I's tour of Old City, Philadelphia...of course it was a thousand degrees on the day we pick to dress up!

Think that's it...Let's see how it compares with what I said I was going to sew...
Things I want To Sew in the New Year But Probably Won't
- 1870ish red and white striped walking dress
- 1844 C&C corset and corded petticoat
- red 1840s day dress (for Poe, has morphed into brown wool, and hopefully will be done soon!)
- 1911 C&C corset
- late 16thc jacket and petticoat, coif - didn't go to PA Ren faire this year
- 1971 Gernreich swimsuit from KCI book - not happening, I never swim, who am I kidding?
- bridesmaid dress
- Figure out what the heck to do with all the fabric.com silk taffeta I bought (nope, but I bought lots more unnecessary fabric!)
- patchwork quilt for A's wedding gift Finished this, and took not one single picture of it! Oh well.
New list for 2011!
Things I want To Sew in the New Year But Probably Won't
- 1870ish red and white striped walking dress - I want to make this before I think about doing the Tissot dress, for practice!
- 1911 C&C corset - doesn't have to be done this year, but I want to do something Titanic-related for the hundredth anniversary, so if I have time...
- brown wool 1840s, for Poe
- something late 1850s to wear to a ballet or opera at the Academy of Music - ? time period subject to change! But I want to go to the Academy dressed up in something 19thc!
- finish orange and blue 1780s dress
- striped 1780s dress - maybe
- 1795-1800 outfit
- cranberry wool 1770 gown - if I need it for the historical society (forgot to put this on the list before! oops)
I highly doubt most of these will get done, and I'll probably deviate from this list as much as I did the one from last year! But it's still fun to make lists. XD
